Meet our Happy Glamper

It started with a picture in a magazine, which lead to my Pinterest board, that I have been faithfully adding to for months. Why are camper trailers so fun? They're compact. They represent summer trips, freedom, the best of Americana. When my excellent mother and I saw a glamped camper at a flea market, we decided we had to do it. First, we had to find the right one. KSL was our trusty guide, and not two days later we came home with our beauty:
Looks like the space was created for it, eh? We're not sure what kind of camper it is exactly, but judging from the refrigerator:
And the fabulous knobs and the style of the shelves:

We are guessing its from the late 1940s or 50s. What really sold us was the curvature. What a fun space!:

And details like these:
There's some significant water damage, but nothing a little caulking and paint can't clean up. We're following inspiration like this:

Plans are to paint the interior a bright white, with trim in aqua and yellow. Bunting is a necessity. Recovering cushions in a stripey fabric. And I'll record it all here on the blog! First thing to do was remove all the ugly excessive hardware and bang in the loose nails. A good opportunity to teach my girls about philips heads and hammers!

We're imagining a backyard hideaway that we can all play in through all four seasons. In the future, it would make a pretty rad hang out for a bunch of teenage girls. For now, my girls think its a great place to read books, and of course jump on the bed. They pretty much think this is the best purchase decision we've ever made.
